full slackware eat 4 GB
Open Office eat 600 MB
NX_Server eat 100 MB
KDE 4.2 eat 700 MB

However, all those sw can be run in olpc NAND 1 GB built in mtd0

Why?

Because it was using jffs2 filing system.
