I don't know deep detail but ingeneral most notebook can increase:

1. RAM
2. HD
3. processor speed

w/o hard problems.

BUT s/t increasing it will reduce total performance instead.

Last time I buy book pc at 333 Mhz and 256 MB RAM but after I increase
speed to 1.3 Ghz and RAM to 1 GB then its was running too hot and decrease
in performance much.

Every m/b has its optimum hardware spec by nature.
Please don't upgrade it blindly as I used to do it.

Most TH sticker in TH design to fit standard external keyboard.
It cannot fit to small KB of OLPC but for ASUS eee pc I think if we cut
only alphabet from sticker by careful persons then it should fit in
w/o much problems.

MOst people in TH become a pity victim of companies that try to feed
poison knowledge to them to let they buy higher performance pc.

I accept that OLPC has low performance because it has only 400 Mhz and 256
MB RAM. So, it can run few process at the same time and have limitation to
include big medias in RAM.

However, it is not true that performance and specification has linear
correlation to ONE.

My nephew ask his father to change from uniprocessor to dual processor
because he think it will gave twice performance but the truth is its
performance some time did not change and some time change only 5%

1.6 Ghz with 1 GB should run everything jointly at the same time already.
So, you do not need to worry.
BUT don't expect it to run much faster because limiting factor is its
mainboard and USB speed.

Notebook with good chipset on main board will run much faster than another
at the same spec of RAM and Mhz.

The best way to find out which one is good pc of the choice is by pluging
in NGUD Live CD and see its true bench mark before buying it.

Last time I used NGUD to buy good pc for my brother.
